Ozzie's Ghost | M.P. Pellicer
In the 1930s, Oswald "Ozzie" Nelson and Harriet Nelson became famous on the radio show, The Baker's Broadcast. In 1944, they launched their own radio show, The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet which later became a well-known sitcom by the same name that ran on television from 1952 to 1966. The house on the set was modeled after their real home, which would eventually develop a reputation for being haunted.
The Nelson house is located on 1822 Camino Palmero Street in Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills. It was built in 1916, for a prominent Los Angeles businessman Harold G. Feraud, on a sloping half-acre parcel in the exclusive Las Colinas Heights subdivision. Architects Frank Kegley and H. Scott Gerity designed it in a colonial revival style.

The Ghost of Al Capone's Mistress | M.P. Pellicer
Capone had many mistresses, but some held his interest longer than others. One of these allegedly was Mary Ann Brown, who also went by the name of Vera. She is a mysterious woman, because very little is known about her, if she ever existed at all.
Perhaps she used the surname of Brown in imitation of Capone's alias Al Brown, which he used since 1920 when he was the keeper of the Four Deuces saloon at 2222 S. Wabash Avenue. Later in life he would be known by the more notorious moniker of Scarface.

The Page House as it was known for over a century, faced Main Street. It was a stone structure with unusual pyramidal chimneys.

Haunted and For Sale | M.P. Pellicer
When you see a horror movie about a cursed house, once the credits roll you sigh with relief because you live in an ordinary house. Everything changes when it comes to actually buying one, and then living in a home that's stigmatized either by murder, suicide or an actual haunting.
On occasion the first to discover that a property might be problematic is the realtor. Dana Bull arrived with an inspector at a two-family property in Salem, Massachusetts. One of the units was occupied, and the buyer needed her feedback before deciding if they should stay, or if new tenants were in order.

Dennis' Ghost | M.P. Pellicer
Abraham Lincoln is widely claimed to haunt the White House, but his cousin Dennis Friend Hanks (1799-1892), who lived with him in his childhood home in Indiana, was reputed to haunt the house he owned in Charleston, Illinois.
In 1965, Mr. and Mrs. Tycers moved into their newly-purchased, 14-room house largely to have a place for the antiques they had collected over the years.

The Ghosts of LaLaurie Mansion | M.P. Pellicer
In New Orlean's Vieux Carre sits a house with an old-fashioned facade. Even before the turn of the 20th century, the Franco-Spanish residents of the old faubourg would whisper, "la maison est hantee",
After nightfall many walked past it with hurried steps. They were afraid to peer upwards and see the figure of a ghost child that haunted the rooftop once decorated by a latticed belvedere.
The three-storied home at 1140 Royal Street (Rue Royale) stood empty and ruined for many years.

The Chinese Ghost of Stewart's Folly | M.P. Pellicer
In 1901, Stewart's Castle or Stewart's Folly as it was also known was demolished. It had been built for Nevada Senator William Morris Stewart after the end of the Civil War. Contrary to popular expectations as to who would be the phantom to haunt this place, it was not Senator Stewart, but the origins stem from the time this building served as the Chinese Legation from 1886 to 1893.
The Ghost of the Eerie Spaniard | M.P. Pellicer
In 1883 a local historian of San Luis Obispo wrote of place that many considered was haunted by a proud Spaniard who had made a dying request that his body should be interred at lonely, seaside home he had built called "El Morro".
